Blackberry 9630 Review – Whats The Verdict?

blackberry 9630Considering I see a fair lot of business phones around me (U.S business students are often enclosed in a thickly business environment) I’ve never been truly impressed with the blackberry, although I’m aware that some of the corporate people would only scorn at me for saying so. Perhaps, it’s the principle of the thing that gets to me. People at my age, youngsters as you may label us, prefer change and innovation. Blackberry fails to deliver that I guess. Take for example, the blackberry 9630.

Considering it’s the new thing in the series, you’ll probably be sitting at home thinking what it would be this time. Well, be ready to be disappointed. It’s a simple blend of three predecessors. The Blackberry Storm, blackberry curve 8900, and the blackberry bold! It snuggles in between the last two for a size fit, and depends greatly on both for the way it looks. It’s almost a puzzle where pieces from both versions have been taken off and fixed to create a “whole new look”. Perhaps the battery door will fascinate some of us?

It comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera which is a sigh of relief and much cause of happiness. The previous 2.0 megapixel Among the other features, worth mentioning is the RIM’s LCD with a resolution of 480×360 is the time and again used item with the blackberry fans who have already fallen for it in Curve.

You couldn’t completely say the maker did not think his options through! Consider, for example, the form fit in your hand. Neither too small (like the Curve) nor too big (Remember Bold?); it is a refreshingly well fitting phone for the majority. While the thickness and size may not win the hearts of those hooked onto the smaller Curve 8900 (meaning you can’t stuff it in your back pocket like you did with the 8900), it Does hold onto its own when compared with the little curvy devil.

The CDMA carriers have finally something to talk about and get their game going with 9630. Considering the fact that it has both the form and specifications on its side against Bold, it is also leaving Curve behind in keyboard styling and processing speed.

The keyboard, now, if you please. The keyboard has always been my issue with blackberry. While bigger keyboards make the entire process really tiring as you keep jumping from a key to another, the smaller ones make it impossible to type without errors. With 9630, the problem is more or less resolved to a great extent. The 9630 keyboard solves all issues by marking a middle ground with the size, incorporating both the ease of reaching keys well and increase the efficiency with accuracy of not-no-tight keyboard.

Perhaps, owning one wouldn’t be too bad. Considering it is a product designed for the corporate class, it definitely delivers what it sets out to deliver. Sophistication (read boredom), efficiency of internet management via mobile phone, and not to forget data speed, Blackberry 9630 does march ahead of its peers.
